Accessibility Statement

Last updated: October 4, 2026

1. Our Commitment

Territory Conquest is committed to making the Game and website accessible to as many people as reasonably possible.

We aim to support users who rely on keyboard navigation, screen readers, visual adjustments, and other assistive technologies.

2. How to Enable Accessibility Features

Open the floating accessibility control (person icon) on any page — including the Game and legal pages such as Terms, Privacy, Cookies, and this Accessibility Statement — to turn features on or off. Several options are opt-in so the default interface stays simple until you enable them.

Your choices are saved in your browser for later visits.

3. Accessibility Features

Through the accessibility menu, the Service currently provides:

  • keyboard navigation for the territory map (opt-in)
  • extra screen-reader labels for game actions, footer legal links, and Back to game (opt-in)
  • skip-to-main-content link when keyboard or screen-reader mode is on (works on the Game and legal pages)
  • high-contrast mode site-wide
  • color-vision / colorblind-friendly presentation
  • reduce motion (makes hover and map scroll changes instant; follows system preference on first visit)
  • text resizing from 100% up to 200% site-wide
  • visible focus indicators when keyboard mode is on
  • accessible document structure on legal pages (main landmark, article, headings)

4. Legal Pages

Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and this Accessibility Statement use a main content landmark and heading structure so screen readers can navigate by section. With screen-reader mode enabled, each legal page announces a short orientation note, and footer links use clearer names.

5. Game Board Accessibility

The territory map is interactive. When accessibility modes are enabled, territory controls are designed to expose information such as territory identifier, current owner, territory level, protection status, available action, Token cost, and action result.

Color should not be the only method used to communicate ownership, protection, availability, or other important game state. A map legend and optional color-vision mode are provided to help.

6. Keyboard Navigation

Turn on keyboard navigation in the accessibility menu to move through the territory map with the keyboard (for example arrow keys) without requiring a mouse.

Interactive controls are intended to have a logical focus order and a visible focus state when keyboard mode is active. On legal pages, use Tab to reach footer links, Back to game, and the accessibility control.

7. Screen Readers

Important interface information is intended to be available through semantic HTML, accessible names, labels, and ARIA where needed.

Enable the screen-reader labels option in the accessibility menu for richer spoken descriptions of map and shop actions, clearer footer legal-link names, and orientation notes on legal documents.

8. Text Resizing and Zoom

Use the text-size control in the accessibility menu (100%–200%) or your browser zoom. The interface is designed to support larger text without intentionally hiding essential content or functionality.

9. Color and Contrast

The Game should not communicate essential information through color alone.

Users can enable high-contrast and color-vision support from the accessibility menu.

10. Reduce Motion

Enable Reduce motion in the accessibility menu to make land hover fades and keyboard map scrolling instant. Focus and selection highlights are steady (not animated). On a first visit, the Game also follows your operating system's reduced-motion preference when no saved choice exists yet.
