2. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you use Territory Conquest.

It applies to the website, Game, guest accounts, purchases, account recovery, customer support, and related services.

3. How Accounts Work

Territory Conquest does not use passwords or a traditional sign-up form.

  • When you open the Game, we create a guest account identified by a random account ID stored in your browser's local storage.
  • You may set a display name shown on the map and leaderboard.
  • We ask for an email address when you buy Tokens. That email is used for purchase confirmation and account recovery.
  • After a purchase, we generate a reclaim code (also called a recovery code). Anyone with that code can restore the account on another device. Keep it private.

4. Information We Collect

Account Information

  • account identifier (guest ID)
  • display name and title
  • email address (when provided at checkout)
  • reclaim / recovery code
  • account creation date
  • name-change history needed to apply rename costs

We do not collect or store passwords. Card numbers and full payment credentials are handled by our payment provider, not by us.

Game Information

  • territories claimed or conquered
  • territory levels and protection timers
  • Token balance
  • Token transaction logs (claims, conquests, upgrades, and renames — including free renames — with tokens spent, related territory when applicable, success status, and time)
  • conquest history (attacker, defender if any, territory, level before/after, and time)
  • gameplay actions needed to run the Game
  • leaderboard rankings derived from gameplay
  • timestamps

Purchase Information

When you buy Tokens, we and/or our payment provider may process:

  • email address used for checkout
  • payment provider order / transaction identifiers
  • purchase amount and currency
  • package purchased and Tokens awarded
  • payment status
  • refund or chargeback status, if applicable

Information Stored on Your Device

We use browser local storage (and similar technologies) rather than traditional login cookies for most client state, including:

  • your guest account ID
  • a cached copy of your checkout email (for convenience)
  • accessibility preferences (for example keyboard navigation, high contrast, color-vision mode, text size)

Technical and Log Information

Our hosting and infrastructure providers may automatically process technical data such as IP address, browser/user-agent, request timestamps, and error or security logs when you use the Service. We do not currently operate a separate first-party analytics or advertising tracker in the Game.

5. Information Visible to Other Players

Some Game information is public by design, including:

  • your display name and title on territories you control
  • leaderboard entries showing display name, title, and lands owned

Your email address and reclaim code are not shown publicly on the map or leaderboard.

6. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • provide and operate the Game
  • create and maintain guest accounts
  • process and reconcile purchases
  • maintain Token balances
  • keep permanent gameplay and Token-spend audit logs for integrity, support, and abuse prevention
  • send transactional purchase / recovery emails
  • allow account recovery via reclaim code
  • show public gameplay identity (names, titles, leaderboard)
  • prevent fraud, abuse, and cheating
  • diagnose technical problems and keep the Service secure
  • provide customer support
  • comply with legal obligations
  • protect our rights and the rights of users

We do not use your email for marketing newsletters unless we clearly ask for that consent in the future.

7. Third-Party Services

The Service depends on third-party services such as:

  • Dodo Payments — payment processing and checkout
  • Vercel — hosting and related infrastructure logs
  • Supabase — database and application data storage
  • Resend — transactional email delivery (for example purchase / reclaim emails)

These providers may process information as necessary to provide their services and are subject to their own privacy policies.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including operating accounts, maintaining financial records, security and fraud prevention, and complying with legal obligations.

Token transaction logs and conquest history are retained indefinitely as permanent Game audit records (including free rename events) so we can verify spends, rename eligibility, and gameplay integrity over time.

Because guest accounts are tied to a browser-stored ID and optional reclaim code, clearing your browser storage without reclaiming may make an account hard to recover unless you still have the reclaim code or associated email records.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. Account access after purchase depends heavily on secrecy of your reclaim code; treat it like a password.

No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, and withdrawal of consent.

We may need to verify your identity before responding (for example by confirming control of the account email or reclaim code).

11. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for users aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not knowingly permit children under 13 to use the Service.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without the legally required consent, we will take appropriate steps consistent with applicable law.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated as appropriate.
